soulpuppetry - the webring

To join soulpuppetry, your webpage must follow the following rules:

1. The site on the ring must contain fanfic. That's a no-brainer. If your site does not contain fanfiction, and you attempt to join a fanfiction webring, the ringmistress has every right to laugh at you.

2. Your site must contain a significant amount of fanfiction. If your site's content is three fanfics and nothing else, please develop your site a little more before you apply to the webring. If your site's content is four hundred fanarts and three fanfics, please go join a fanart ring instead.

3. Please only submit sites containing fanfiction that you, yourself, wrote. No shrines, no collections of other people's fanfiction, no plagiarism. This is a webring for authors.

4. And on that note, if we discover ANYTHING plagiarized, stolen, copied, traced, or borrowed-but-uncredited on your site, we will yank your site from the ring and have you publicly spanked. This includes ALL your site's content, not just the fanfiction. Stuff by other people is fine, as long as you showed them every courtesy before posting.

5. At this point in time, soulpuppetry is only accepting sites that contain anime and console game fanfiction. This rule may change later, once the ringmistress is more comfortable with running a webring. Or it may not. The ringmistress might be an evil bitch, after all.

6. Also at this point in time, if you have on your site a soulbonding icon, clique, webring, or weblog, please do not attempt to join soulpuppetry. While soulbonding and soulpuppetry may not be entirely mutually exclusive, the concept of soulbonding as it currently exists is just too... serious and angsty for the purposes of this webring. For now, if you have soulbonds, you may not have soulpuppets. Nyah.

7. You must have one of the webring doodads in an appropriate place on your site: on the splash page, on the main page, on the main page of your fanfics section, on your links page, on your webrings page, whatever you feel is appropriate. If the ringmistress can't find the doodad in two minutes, it's not appropriate enough, and she'll chew on your head.

8. Collective/multi-user sites are fine, as long as the collective involves fanfiction and fits all the criteria above.

9. Yaoi/yuri/hentai fanfic is allowed and welcome on the ring. Heck, it's encouraged. Nay, slavered over.

10. No hate sites are allowed on the webring. This includes (but is not limited to) fanfiction sites dedicated to bashing of certain characters, and fanfiction sites that are specifically anti-yaoi/yuri/hentai. There is a difference between not allowing hentai content and specifically bashing it.

11. There is no rule 11. The ringmistress only wanted to have thirteen rules because she thought it was cool. Huh huh, thirteen, huh huh.

12. The ringmistress (who's getting a little too used to referring to herself in the third person) is a fairly cranky individual. Treat her with respect and wariness, and do not attempt to circumvent the rules or be obstinate. It won't help.

13. Ringmistress has the right to turn down any site for any reason, or for no reason at all. Yes, she has the right to turn your site down because her feet hurt. She hasn't called herself an evil bitch three times for nothing.
